The CPU Usage Tool can be run in any open Visual Studio project, a nicely installed Microsoft Store app, running app, or concept. You can run the CPU Usage tool with or without debugging. For more information, see Running profiling tools and accessories with or without a debugger.
The next few instructions show you how to use the CPU Usage Tool without a debugger, using the Visual Studio Performance Profiler. The examples use the assembly harness on the local machine. The version extension provides the best insight into the performance of a serious applications. As a general rule, your own computer is better at reproducing installed convenience applications. In particular, to collect data from a healthy remote device, it must be running an application, not a remote desktop connection.

How do I see CPU usage in Visual Studio?
Collect CPU gas consumption data Choose Debug > Performance Profiler. Under “Available Tools” select “CPU Usage”and then click Start. Once all applications are running, the diagnostic session collects and displays CPU usage data.
In a Visual Studio project, set this solution configuration to Release and select Local Windows Debugger (or Local Computer) as the deployment target.
Select Debug > Performance Profiler.
How do I Debug high CPU usage?

The diagnostics are sorted by total CPU count, from highest to lowest. Change the sort order or sort column by selecting most of the column headings. Use the filter dropdown to select or deselect rungs on the display, and use the search field to search carefully for a specific node or nodes.
Starting with Visual Studio 2019, you can click the Expand Hot Path and Show Hot Path control buttons to view the function calls that are using the highest percentage of CPU in the Call Pine view.
CPU Usage Columns
The milliseconds and percentage of CPU used in previous function calls that affect the function call, specifically within the selected time range. This is typical for a CPU usage graph and/or a time series graph, towhich compares the total physical movement of the CPU in a range of time with the available CPU.

CPU Usage Call Tree
To view the call tree, select the parent node when submitting. Using the CPU page opens the Caller/Callee view. Select Tree from the Current View drop-down list.

The framework for the system and attributes that your current code implements is called external code. External code functions start and stop the application, draw the user interface, manage threads, and provide other low-level services in the application. In most cases, you are not interested in external code, so the CPU usage call tree collectsmale or female outer functions in method 1 nodes [outer code].
To view the call paths for external code, on the diagnostic evaluation main page (right pane), select Show external code from the Filter drop-down list, and then select Apply. The call tree on the CPU usage web page then expands the external codenames. (The filter dropdown is available up to the main page, diagnostics, not detail views.)
Many of the bells and whistles for calling external code are deeply nested, so the width of a row can exceed the width of its display in the Function Name column. Then the function names can be seen as ….

Asynchronous Tasks In The CPU Usage Label Tree
